Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins are set to reform The Shield

Last night’s RAW seemed to have put all the pieces together when Cesaro and Sheamus attacked Reigns during his Intercontinental title match with The Miz.

The unlikely trio then hit the ex-WWE champion with The Shield’s signature Triple Powerbomb finisher and mimicked the historic faction’s signature pose over their fallen rival.

Sheamus and Cesaro also laid waste to the Raw Tag Team champions earlier in the night after Braun Strowman beat Rollins and hit Ambrose with the Running Powerslam.

The  former Tag Team champions have had a long rivalry with the Kingslayer and the Lunatic Fringe since losing the belts to them at Summerslam in August and coming up short in their rematch at No Mercy two weeks ago.

Reigns, who got a huge win against John Cena at No Mercy, was then joined by his former comrades backstage and even though no one uttered a single word they made it look clear that a reunion is imminent.

It initially looked like the Hounds of Justice would rejoin forces to take on The Miztourage (The Miz, Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas) but WWE management seem to have decided to add some more star power to the mix.

Starsport anticipated that the Intercontinental champion could join forces with Cesaro and Sheamus last night due to the fact all of them are currently feuding with Shield stars.

Strowman though could also be added to the mix somehow after getting the better of Rollins and Ambrose for two straight weeks.

The Shield debuted on November 18, 2012 at Survivor Series when they powerbombed Ryback through a table.

The faction then went on a rampage taking out the likes of Cena, The Rock and The Undertaker, winning the WWE Tag Team and US titles, beating famous factions like the Wyatt Family as well as Evolution and remaining undefeated in six-man tag team action for five months.

On June 2, 2014 the group disbanded when Rollins attacked his former partners and each member went on to become WWE champion.
